Templit is a myriad of influences. Clashes of progressive rock, funk, folk, psychedelic and classic rock can all be heard within the music. Often times, multiple genres will be found within the same song. Each member of the four piece is a songwriter/composer in their own right. This gives a wide basis for a multitude of sounds. For the most part, the main interest of the project is to create memorable music and entertainment. The tone can be comedic, involved within a deeper meaning, or anywhere inbetween the two. Each song is given a message and purpose. We strive to distance ourselves from fads, mainstream cliches, and the current 'sound'. Our focus is on building and perfecting our art. Since each member is a songwriter, topics can vary from issues on relationships, to politics, to more ethereal subjects about life and our time here. It is always the music itself that keeps us going. Classic rock of course is a huge influence, but bands like Tool, Pearl Jam .. and pretty much anything that has the lightest hint of talent have played roles in our development. Comedians like Bill Hicks and writers/thinkers like Tim Leary and Hunter S. Thompson are among the many we hold dear. For the band itself, it contains a group of hard working young men in their early twenties. That's an easy enough description. We work and toil to make the best we can with what we have. We are determined, motivated, cynical optimists with the hopes of eventually starting our own justice league in a mountain fortress somewhere high above sea level in Peru ... or possibly Chile ... whatever's cheapest.
