Thom Shepherd is a singer, songwriter, and entertainer born in St. Louis, Missouri. He grew up in Stephens City, Virginia, and after receiving his Bachelor's Degree from George Mason University gave up a budding career in the film and television industry to take his best shot at the Nashville music scene. He is the writer of the hit song 'Riding with Private Malone.' The song, co-written with Wood Newton and recorded by David Ball, went to #1 in Gavin, #2 in Billboard and R&R, and was #1 on the Texas Music Chart for two months straight. Thom even got to be in the video, playing the title role. Nashville Star winner Buddy Jewell recorded Thom's song 'O'Reilly Luck' on his recently certified Gold album. Lately his songs have been recorded by Kevin Fowler, Craig Morgan, George Canyon, and Cledus T. Judd. But that's only part of the reason he came to Nashville. He is an incredible performer and award-winning vocalist as well. He has opened for the Charlie Daniels Band, Pam Tillis, Ty Herndon, Sammy Kershaw, Neal McCoy, Ricky Van Shelton, Mark Collie, John Michael Montgomery, Exile, and Mel McDaniel. He has also performed on stage with Vern Gosdin, Keith Urban, Dean Dillon, Ricochet, David Ball, and Jim Ed Brown. He has toured Alaska numerous times for Armed Forces Entertainment, performing for the Air Force, Army and Coast Guard. His current CD, Country Squire, features fourteen of his original songs. In 2003 he signed a music publishing deal with Mosaic Music Group in Nashville, and the company is working to help land him a recording contract.
