Three Wheel Motion
Three Wheel Motion plays original, song-oriented roots-rock music. Most songs are written in a pop format (verse/chorus...) with an emphasis on hooks, both musically and lyrically. Classic rock lead guitar compliments the dynamic arrangements while the jangle of acoustic guitar gives the band it's rustic center. Lyrically, many of the songs are about personal struggles looked at universally with hard realism. What began as a solo acoustic project by singer/songwriter Shane Seals in 2001, quickly expanded into a full rock and roll band as the songs evolved. Enlisting the help of seasoned local musicians to fill out the sound, Three Wheel Motion quickly established itself as a premier roots-rock band in Central Kentucky with their passionate and energetic stage show (and hats). Three Wheel Motion's debut CD (2005) was recorded at Barrick Recording with veteran producer/engineer Dave Barrick (Kentucky Headhunters, Dan Baird, Taildragger). Taking advantage of his love of vintage instruments and rich guitar tones, the band produced a group of songs that reflect the energy of the band and the intimacy of the lyrics. Replacing a bass player in 2004 and adding vintage keyboards and organ to more accurately reproduce the studio sound of their debut CD, 3WM continues to push themselves to create roots-rock music that is entertaining, yet musically challenging.
