Think of the Cross
Honoring God. That's what the name 'Timothy' means. And his music is centered towards doing just that. With a style as diverse as his background, Timothy's music encourages those who hear it to reach vertically in their worship and relationship with God. Growing up, Tim Culberson (aka Timothy) was exposed primarily to 'black gospel music' and learned very early how to express himself to his Creator and Savior through the medium of song. You can't help but sense the passion he has for the Lord when listening to the rich blend of gospel, jazz, traditional, and contemporary genres. Tim spent much of his college years singing with local black gospel groups including Ed Johnson and Praise (Best New Group/Song of the Year Texas Gospel Music Awards) and Damascus. Although he was always the only white guy in the group, it really didn't matter to him. 'I love to sing with a soulful energy and those experiences gave me the opportunity to give my all to my Lord,' explains Tim. Now, after obtaining a law degree and continuing to practice as an attorney for the last three years, Tim has followed God's leading with this 'project of praise' as he characterizes his debut album, 'Think of the Cross.' Without a doubt, you cannot listen to the music God has given Tim without sensing the incredible intimacy he shares with his Savior Jesus Christ. 'My relationship with Jesus began at the cross,' proclaims Tim. 'I pray that this album will help people to develop an intimacy with God. Yet, before that can happen we must first go to the cross.' And thus, the title; 'Think of the Cross.' Heart of Praise Records present; Timothy's debut praise project 'Think of the Cross.'
