Lay Some Flowers on My Grave
Titatoma was born 1962 in the north of Austria near a small town called Heidenreichstein. He started playing flute when he was 4 years old. At the age of 6 he began learning trumpet and piano. Being just a boy he played trumpet in a hometown brass-band and later organ in a light music band. In the age of 15, he joined a bluesband, where he started as pianoplayer, but after they did not find the right drummer, he mostly played drums and just a few songs on piano. They played 80 times a year in the whole country and have been very successful. 5 albums, some radio- & television-shows and 7 years later he broke up with that band and lived a life of isolation near the czechoslovakian border. In that time he earned money with teaching piano and spent a lot of time studying auguries and the bible. In 2001 he moved to Vienna and started playing solo in different locations. He has a very special own style, that is not only influenced by blues and jazz, but also by classical pianomusic. His melodies are very brilliant and diversified. Early influenced by the compositions of Dave Brubeck, Jelly Roll Morton and Chick Corea, he soon started to experiment with the ways of polyrhythm. But you will never miss a solid left hand groove in his songs.
