Tobi Hofmann, born in 1973 in Munich, Germany, began his musical education at the age of six.He sang as a member of the well-known 'Toelzer Knabenchor' Boys Choir for five years while also taking his first piano lessons. At twelve, he started learning to play the drums.He sang and played in various choirs and youth orchestras, founded his first own bands, and in 1990, he founded the a-capella quintet 5 pipes. That's when he first wrote his own musical arrangements and compositions. After his graduation from the musical highschool Pestalozzi Gymnasium, he became the founder and conductor of the Big Band at Neubiberg's Music School. In 1996, he began his studies in the program for jazz composition under Rob Pronk, at the Conservatory for Music at Rotterdam, Netherlands. From 1998, Tobias also studied acting at the Hochschule fuer Schauspielkunst "Ernst Busch", from which he received his diploma in 2002. Today, Tobi works as a freelance actor, stage musician, and director at Karlsruhe's Badisches Staatstheater, Dresden's Staatsschauspiel, and others. As a musician (trumpet, piano, bass, drums), he performs in many different musical formations. He also composed the soundtracks for several award-winning TV documentary films.
