Tom and Donna Hatton have been a team for 41 years, but now they also share the stage as they sing and perform the cowboy music and poetry they write together. In 41 years they have worked side by side on the familiy ranches raising three children along with their priced black angus cattle in the Colorado sand hills east of Colorado Springs and on their head quarters West of Cripple Creek. Together Tom and Donna have performed at festivals and gathering around the west from Colorado to Idaho and from Texas to North Carolina and many places in between. Their first CD together, Whispers of Voices won the Academy of Western Artists Will Rogers Award for Cowboy Poetry CD Album 2005. Donna has been singing and telling stories and sharing her love of the west as a cowboy poet since 1984. She was a featured performer at the Greater Pikes Peak Poetry Gathering for 5 years and is a top 10 lady cowboy poet for the Western Music Association and a two time top five lady cowboy poet for AWA. Tom and Donna were also nominated for western duo and for a top ten western song by AWA. Donna is a multi talented artist, a semi-finalist at the Estes Park Christian Artist Seminar of the Rockies. She is an accomplished trained vocalist both as a western singer as well as in christian and classical music. Tom and Donna are active in The Western Music Association and are the presidents and director of the WMA Youth Chapter. Donna started the Performing Arts of the West three years ago which is now The WMA Youth Chapter. The Youth Chapter is to encourage and mentor the youth coming into the Western Music and Cowboy Poetry. Tom and Donna bring the simple back to cowboy poetry and music with a guitar and harmonies and the stories of the life they live.
