I first became interested in writing music as a college undergrad at the University of Delaware. I bought a guitar sight unseen from a Sears catalog and began to teach myself how to play. My friends, who were involved in the arts, encouraged me to write and play, and thus, my internal desires had been validated! After I graduated I was fortunate to become a student of guitarist, John Dougherty, who taught me music theory and the Berklee method of playing. I studied with John for approximately 10 years and met my wife, Carol through John, as she was also one of his students. Carol and I moved to the Atlanta area and formed the band AZZU, which we recorded and performed with from 1988 through 1992. After the birth of our first child, "My Baby Justin" the responsibilities of parenthood took precedence and we ceased performing. This "quiet' period as a performer allowed me to focus my energies on my song-writing and the tracks on my CD "Destination Love" began to take form. This collection of songs is a testament to the joy, pride, pain, challenges, spirituality and unconditional love of my family. CD Review: 'Listening to your CD as I work this morning. Great arrangements, quality of recording, harmonies; moving, reflective, heartfelt lyrics. I'll be getting some mileage out of this CD. Can't imagine the time it takes to put something of this quality together!'
