Song for You
It all started because his dad went to Juilliard Music College where he met Tommy's mom. Tommy's dad, Tom Sr., jazz trombonist, and his mom, an operatic soprano, had met and married while students. By the time Tommy Jr. was 11 months old, he and his mom were living on the road and touring America with dad. The family finally settled in New Jersey and Tom Sr. began work in New York as a musician on NBC TV's hit, The Sid Caesar Show. Tommy began playing the piano at the age of 4, and soon after that, the trumpet, drums, and singing. At 16, Tommy got his first taste at writing for TV while his dad was a staff musician at ABC with the Dick Cavett Show Orchestra. This CD represents the kind of music Tommy is performing at the piano locally in South Florida. He has included as the last 3 songs, originals that round out the CD. 'Letting Go' is an end of a love affair. 'Summer's Lullaby' is a song written for his daughter, and 'Sing' is a tribute to musicians who live the club life. Enjoy.
