On November 5th Topsy Washington released their newest record, 5 brand new tracks titled 'The Waterline EP.' The new, recording highlights the band's maturity as both songwriters and musicians, and the addition of new bassist Grant Zubritsky and keyboardist Ben Hecht brings an incredible depth to the music. If you are already familiar with Topsy, you will not want to miss this album. From start to finish, the playing is smooth and satisfying, with no bitter after-taste. This fall Topsy Washington is not only making their mark musically, but also on the big screen. On September 24th they made their movie debut in the 21 Productions/ Dark Horse Entertainment feature film 'Liberal Arts.' Several songs from their new record are featured throughout the film and the band appears front and center, playing live in a major scene. Topsy's introspective ballad 'Storm' has also been chosen for another film, titled 'The Extra Hour' currently in production from IndieFilms Limited in New York City. With each member bringing multiple years of musical experience to the stage, the upstate New York based quintet embodies a youthful yet reflective energy that has garnered them an earnest following. The years 2002 and 2003 found Topsy gigging continuously in order to increase their exposure and fanbase. As of August 2004, the band's mailing list exceeds 300 in upstate New York, and they've only scratched the surface.
