Travels with Charlotte Glasson
Charlotte Glasson is a multi instrumentalist living in the UK. She plays anything she can lay her hands on- including saxes, flutes, violin, viola, percussion and even the saw!A few years ago she bought a narrowboat, and escaped the rat race so she could concentrate on writing music, and those compositions can be heard on her fisrt CD\'Escapade.\' Classically trained, but brought up playing jazz, she has an eclectic musical taste, and this is reflected on her second CD \'Travels with Charlotte Glasson.\' She has worked as a session musician for artists such as Oasis, The Divine Comedy, Nerina Pallot, Will Young, Jah Wobble, Pucho and the Latin Soul Brothers and Claire Martin.Recently she learned the Saw, to play in the new show by the creators of Stomp, called \'The Lost and Found Orchestra,\' and performed shighest selling show ever at the Sydney Opera House. Charlotte\'s aim is to create a colourful, vibrant jazz sound with influences form Brazil, New Orleans and Gypsy music, with melodies weaving out of intricate rhythms, and having the tuba as the bass makes things a bit different from your usual lineup. It\'s music to make you feel good, perfect for driving in your car or on the train! ! She recently worked with tap dances Will Gaines and Jason Samuel-Smith from New York, and poets John Cooper Clarke, Stephen Kallinich and John Dowie.
