Tristano, named after Lead Singer/Guitarist Tony Tristano, was established in the summer of '98' only with the intentions to do a one time gig. After having spent 8 years together in various bands, Guitarist Rick williams and drummer Kevin Jackson saw new possibilities with Tony and then made the decision to keep the band together. 'Tristano' has been going strong ever since. Springtime '00', the three original members of Tristano begin to 'Pen' new original material for a CD that would be recorded later that year. Finding time to write and rehearse was never easy, but overcome. During this time, chances were if you were to try to locate one or all of these band members, you would have found them in a wreck room in a small town called Champion, Ohio, doing what they do best- making music. Whether writing melody lines and lyrics, rehearsing backing vocals, creating and working out song arrangements and ideas, or simply laying down their Day's work on tape, countless hours were spent with a 'Full Speed Ahead', 'Refuse to Lose', 'Don't take no for an answer' type of devotion toward this project.Tristano purposely kept their schedule open by booking only a hanful of gigs during the summer and fall to dedicate all free time and enegy towards their goal. Friday, August 25th. '2000', Tristano arrived at the studio to start laying down their first tracks. They would then proceed to spend approx. The next two months whenever schedules allowed, recording and co-producing their Debut CD 'VENT'. 'VENT' was recorded, Engineered and Produced in a 48 track digital, state of the art recording environment- Tune Town Recording Studio in Newton Falls, Ohio, by Mike Talanca, an extremely talented engineer who has worked with Many big names such as Foreigner, The Rolling Stones, Kiss, Bruce Springsteen and David Bowie just to name a few. Mike's experience and ideas were extremely helpful and a great source of inspiration for the band Also, being a very talented bass guitarist as well, Mike went out of his way and did the guys from Tristano a huge favor by writing and recording the bass tracks for their CD. Having grown up listening to and being inspired by such bands as Zeppelin, Kiss, Hendrix, skynyrd etc. Tristano's original sound reflects their influences and 'VENT' also has a strong, modern sound of today's bands as well. 'VENT' features Driving rhythm and lead guitar work with a somewhat Southern type of flare, Punchy bass and drums and spotlights the powerful, Soulful voice of front-man Tony Tristano.
