Standing firmly on the core values of classic-era hip-hop, emcee/producer Truce II Headrush nonetheless takes the genre in a unique and personal direction. Drawing influences from styles ranging from classic rock, punk, and electronic to the contemporary acoustic indie scene, Truce's organic, genre-bending style is comparable to artists such as OutKast, K-os and the Beastie Boys; and forerunners such as Arrested Development and A Tribe Called Quest. Music for the now era, rooted in classic values. Born and raised in the hills of Western Maryland, and a veteran of pioneering Western Maryland music collective Midnight: 30, Truce II Headrush was weaned on music whose message was positive and formula simple: beats, rhymes, and life. As the 90's submitted to gangsta, jiggy, and, eventually, bling, Truce abandoned the mainstream for the underground, expanding his musical foundation and forging his own enigmatic production style. His deft lyricism ranges from intensely personal, to political, to comical; and mixes with his unique production to deliver an eclectic mix that any music fan can appreciate and hip-hop fans can't front on.
