One of the most controversial psycho-sexual thrillers of the late-1960s, TWISTED NERVE features Bernard Herrmann's eerie whistling theme (later borrowed by Quentin Tarantino for KILL BILL VOL. 1), a supporting cast of acclaimed UK thespians (including Billie Whitelaw, Barry Foster and Frank Finlay) and a complex, suspense laden screenplay from the writer of the seminal shocker PEEPING TOM (1960).

Martin Durnley (Hywel Bennett) is a surly recluse of extraordinary cunning. After meeting an attractive young student, Susan Harper (Hayley Mills), Martin hatches an elaborate plan to charm his way into her life. To appeal to Susan's nurturing instincts he adopts an alternate personality, Georgie, a simple, mentally challenged man-child. This devious deception sets in motion an unsettling tale of deadly obsession and frenzied murder!
