Sitting on the Premises
I recorded my first CD, 'Child of the King,' with the idea that I would use background accompaniment during live shows. Then I found out that some venues don't want to hear prerecorded backgrounds to songs, so for this CD I placed one restriction: All songs would stand on their own with acoustic guitar and vocals. Of course I can also do the background CD thing, but I don't have to. These songs came from my developing relationship with God and the problems into which we all run as we move toward heaven -- or toward hell, for that matter. Problems are part of life; the comfort of the Holy Spirit is essential to living in peace with all the war going on around and in us. I had a lot of fun writing these songs and recording this CD, and what I hear from the people who worked with me on it is that they had fun, too. My prayer is that the sense of fun comes through the music; the Bible says, 'In His presence is fullness of joy,' so we are allowed to have fun in God's presence.
