Hi there, I'm an independent Aussie singer/songwriter from the far north coast of New South Wales. Best way to describe me is acoustic/chill, bit of folk/pop, something to listen to driving your car down the highway. Some people say I that I sound like Morcheeba and a bit of Portishead and sometimes Alanis Morrisette. I always seem to write songs about what I feel is important to me in that moment, so it can be so strange when I listen back and think, wow, did I write that. I'm currently working on a new album. I love to dabble in the recording process and record when the mood really takes me,cause I love the freedom of being an independent artist. I've included my history from my website, the story so far. Feel free to contact me I'm a great emailer and love to hear from people, so drop me a line. Here is what I've done so far. Virginia's independent recording career first took off with guitarist/ songwriter, Jesse Lethbridge as duo Shadow Dancer recording their 'Cosmic Cauldron' album in 1998. In 1999 Virginia went onto record her second independent album with band Totem Crow, called 'Shaman's Death'. Track 9, 'Ruby Divine' was nominated for a Dolphin Award in the Best Folk Song category in 2002. In 2000, Virginia started her Bch of Contemporary Music Degree in Lismore at Southern Cross University and as part of her degree, recorded an EP, 'Delight' with her group, Red Sky in 2001, and album, 'Little Rainbow' with her band Simplifly in 2002. Virginia also studied audio engineering and in 2003 recorded her own songs with euro dance beats to give another dimension to her personal folk ballads on her last album, 'New Wings' as solo independent artist Virginiaflame. Virginia's track 'Freedom' is featured on Lismore Community Radio Station's '2ncr-fm Female Uni Tunes' Compilation album which was launched at The National conference for Women Students (N.O.W.S.A.) in July of 2004 with 14 other female singer/songwriters who attended Southern Cross University. This album has been distributed around community radio stations throughout Australia.
